“33” Export Lager is a premium quality lager beer launched into the Nigerian market in 1979. It currently comes in 60cl bottle and 33cl can containing 5% alcohol and is known to offer greater value for less.
Although the brand label changed a few times over the years, “33” Export transformed into proprietary bottle in 2013 after 34 years in industry “generic” green bottle. The evolution has been driven largely by various creative campaigns through the years.
There was a need to communicate that the product has been refined and this birthed the “recipe for friendship”. This campaign, which is a quality demonstrates that at the heart of friends bonding is a beer of high quality and great taste
In 2012 the brand turned 33 years. A special label was designed for the anniversary. “33” Export embarked on consumer promo tagged “33rd anniversary promo” with a grand prize of N3.3 million up for grabs. This promo was done to reward consumers of their constant loyalty the brand has enjoyed over the past 33 years
It is believed friends live by an unwritten code, the code of understanding and helping each other. Code of friendship is simply rules friends live by and functionally “33” Export is a code for bonding among friends. On the code of friendship platform, “33” Export also launched the “Crack a Code Promo” where friends’ team up to crack the “code” to win fantastic prizes.
33” Export came up with another promo tagged “33 Friendship Promo”. This promo was also aimed at increasing friend’s bond by giving them the opportunity to visit South Africa together.
This was done to mark the world’s friendship day in line with what the brand stands for.
